What a bloody joke!
Most airports can organise an International Transit lounge. You come to expect that these days. Not good ole' New York JFK. If you take a flight through there with American Airways and you are not visiting the US, you still have to leave the plane, line up with hundreds of other poor sods to be finger printed, have your photo taken, asked if you are a Nazi or ever been in jail by some bored rude Homeland Security twat. 50 minutes of waiting later, your bags turn up and you repeat most of the process 200 yards from where you came out...aaargh!
There might be some reason for it if there was something worth seeing in the terminal but sadly no. The height of culinary sophistication in the place is Dunkin' Donuts and McDonalds. The place was last decorated by someone in the 70s and even then they had bad taste. Nothing worth buying (I declined the "I love the big apple" T-Shirt), nothing edible and nowhere to sit down. Just an endless parade of Security twits.
There must be other airports in the US that have better facilities for transit passengers than this dump.
