What a night....it was Carnival in Chilecito last night we had ball. The whole town went mad and threw stuff at each other and we were caught in the crossfire. It is totally crazy....very scantlily clad ladies jiggling their tanned bottoms to a great drum beat whilst marching down the street at 2am......total strangers walking up to you and throwing flour, talc or spraying foam all over you.Very messy but a lot of fun....we went to bed about 330am and the party was not slowing down.
We left with sore heads and 30 minutes late....for some reason, we couldnt get our act together this morning. Maybe it was the beer and 4 hours sleep that had something to do with it. Anyhow, we had a great day on the road and rode about 100km on gravel.
We went to see Argentina´s answer to Monument and Death Valleys combined , the Ischigualasto National Park(Valley of the Moon). A balmy 36C. The place is amazing.....the rock is soft and easily eroded so the wind and water produce wonderful shapes.
As we left, my bike coughed and spluttered a bit and went onto the reserve tank....then Richard´s did and finally Reiner....and there was no petrol for 80km ...It looked a bit negative for a while but we got to Valle Fertil on the fumes in the tanks, bouncing the bikes to get the last few drops of juice into the carburettors.
